The UC Davis Student Foundation (a.k.a. Aggies Helping Aggies or AHA) is dedicated to building a culture of philanthropy among students.
By increasing awareness of philanthropy on campus, AHA is encouraging students to support initiatives that create a lasting impact for fellow Aggies on campus. AHA manages the Student Emergency Relief Aid (AID) program, which is outlined below:
Student Emergency Relief Aid (SERA)
The SERA program offers financial awards to students who are facing financial emergencies like illness, threat of eviction, or unemployment. These funds help students stay in school and on track toward graduation while managing unexpected financial challenges. SERA bridges a core gap and does not need to be repaid.
Even students who manage their money carefully can be caught by life's surprises—an accident or illness, losing a job or a place to live. AHA helps students stay in school through times of crisis.
This program was created by students in 2011. The UC Davis Student Foundation Board believes that no student should have to discontinue their education due to an emergency financial setback.”

The Chancellor's Student Impact Challenge
Calling all students: Vote with your generosity - and win YOUR favorite program a $2,500 gift from Chancellor Gary S. May and LeShelle May!
This Give Day, the Mays are donating $10,000 to support our students' four top programs - and they want your help deciding what those are.
Of course, the Mays love all UC Davis programs. So they are dividing their $10,000 across four categories. Within each, the fund with the most student donors during Give Day will win a bonus $2,500:
STEM -— Includes scholarships, programs or areas of study that have a specific STEM focus or provide support to any college or school.
Student Success — Includes student support programs like the Student Academic Success Center, the Center for Student Involvement, the Special Transitional Enrichment Program (STEP) and many, many others.
Student Emergency and Basic Needs — Includes emergency programs like Student Emergency Financial Aid (SERA), The ASUCD Pantry, or Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center, among others.
Athletics and Club Sports — Includes club sports and activities, as well as UC Davis Athletics' programs.
This is a great opportunity to support a scholarship or program that has made an impact on you during your time at UC Davis. To count for this challenge, please indicate that you are a current UC Davis student when you make your gift. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and always make a difference!
The winning programs will be announced in Dateline on April 30.*
* Please note that before the winning programs are announced, the results will be audited to ensure all donors are UC Davis students.
