Arboretum and Public Garden

Join the Arboretum and Public Garden’s Trees for Tomorrow campaign this Give Day

Your gift will help us plant and nurture new trees across campus to grow a vibrant climate-ready tree canopy for the future.

Generations of students and visitors have enjoyed the shade of trees planted in the 1960s around Lake Spafford and in other parts of the UC Davis campus. Yet, many of these iconic trees are now in decline or have been removed due to age, disease and weather impacts.

Arboretum and Public Garden staff, student environmental leaders, volunteers and partners are working to bolster the aging tree canopy across campus by selecting, planting and caring for hundreds of young climate-ready trees. Donors are important partners in making this work possible.

Planning and Planting: A new tree master plan for the Lake Spafford area
Student Environmental Leaders: Young tree planting and care led by our Urban Tree Stewardship team of Learning by Leading environmental interns
Tree Care Supplies: Tools and equipment to care for tree trial plots and community planting days

By investing in our campus tree canopy and the people who steward it, donors catalyze our work to engage, empower and educate people of our community to create resilient, climate-ready landscapes, enrich our beautiful campus and foster a healthier environment for everyone.
