As a place to study, collaborate, research and discover, the library has always been the academic heart of the university. Now, we help Aggies use, share and create knowledge in new ways:
- Offering classes that teach undergrads how to know what information to trust and how to do smart, efficient research in the digital age,
- Supporting faculty and researchers with cutting-edge digital techniques like text mining and data visualization, and
- Modernizing our study and collaboration spaces to meet the needs of today’s tech-savvy students with tools like digital screens and whiteboard walls.
Today’s library is also digital. Two examples of how we are accelerating our efforts to enable anyone, anywhere to interact with our resources online include:
- Digitizing the archives of The California Aggie from its first issue in 1915 through the present day, and making them searchable online, and
- Crowdsourcing data on historic wine pricing and wine labels from our collections.
