As our nation’s number one school of agriculture and one of the world’s most sustainable universities, UC Davis is home to students and a large community interested in nourishing the world responsibly.
In support of this passion, the Arboretum and Public Garden is seeking gifts for a very special project; transforming the Good Life Garden into an engaging and educational GATEway to the Edible Campus. The Good Life Garden, located at the south entry to campus in the center of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science, will become a glorious stage for community learning about sustainable edible gardening and a portal for visitors to explore edible landscape projects across campus committed to growing food for the health and well-being of our community and the world.
In our re-envisioned Good Life Garden, teams of student and community volunteers will steward the garden year-round, we’ll outfit a new mobile education cart for student interns to bring learning activities into the garden and we’ll enhance the garden with educational signs and outdoor classroom features to attract and impact even more families, students and groups.
Because today is Give Day, your gift will be part of a $20,000 challenge from the Mars Advanced Research Institute through support from Mars Incorporated, to encourage our community to invest in our GATEway to the Edible Campus campaign. You can help us meet this challenge!
Join other Aggies, today, in supporting the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden’s GATEway to the Edible Campus campaign!
