Join the Arboretum and Public Garden’s “All Welcome on Wyatt Deck” campaign this Give Day
Help foster a new half-century of community engagement at Wyatt Deck, a gathering and education hub in the heart of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden. Since the 1960s, Wyatt Deck’s expansive open deck areas and benches have served as an outdoor gathering place, a nature-based classroom, a spot for special events and simply a peaceful place to rest and enjoy nature for countless people of all ages.
It’s time to rebuild Wyatt deck for new generations of students and visitors! Gifts to our “All Welcome on Wyatt Deck” campaign will help update the Wyatt Deck area as a vibrant, safe and accessible center for public, volunteer and student engagement.
The university is investing significant funds this year to replace Wyatt Deck’s deteriorating wood decks with new decks in an accessible design and a new accessible paver pathway. The existing buildings and the trees will remain. Gifts from community donors will bring the updated Wyatt Deck to life by supporting: a new orientation kiosk that will provide welcome and event information for visitors; new demonstration plantings around Wyatt Deck; and our Learning by Leading™ students to develop a slate of free public education programs at Wyatt Deck.
The renovated Wyatt Deck area will benefit thousands of people each year - multi-generational visitors, volunteers, students and members of the campus and regional community - with greater accessibility, improved visitor features and more year-round education programs focused on sustainability and the environment.
Join other Aggies, today, in supporting the Arboretum and Public Garden’s mission to help people and environments thrive. Thank you for your gift to make Wyatt Deck welcoming for all!
