UC Davis Library
Support student success – a modern library for the Aggies of today!

The UC Davis Libraries has over 1.6 million visits in a year. It has always been the space where Aggies come to study, to read, to research and write. It is a crossroads as we reimagine what an academic research library should be and how the facilities need to adapt to meet these needs.

As the academic heart of a changing university, it is critical to renovate and reconfigure the library’s physical space to support how students work, study and collaborate today.

Shields Library was last renovated in 1990, a quarter of a century ago, when the Internet was still in its infancy and many people didn’t have computers or email. Today’s students need a wider range of work environments conducive to the many hours and different ways they are studying. Your gift today will help us meet these needs.

With your support, we will create study oases in the library — welcoming new spaces with more comfortable furniture where students can focus on class readings and assignments, settle in with their books and a laptop, or meet in small study groups with their peers.

Join your fellow Aggies and support student success outside of the classroom. With the support of the Library Task Force and Golden 1 Credit Union, 75 gifts will unlock $7,500 challenge donors to support our first study oases.

Together, we add up! That is why Every Aggie Counts.
