Support our Waterway WOW campaign this Give Day!
Do you have fond memories of studying, exploring, relaxing or walking in the UC Davis Arboretum? Central to the Arboretum experience is the ribbon of waterway that winds through it – connecting people, gardens and programs to the environment.
Yet, our beloved Arboretum Waterway has physical challenges that often leave it green, stagnant or weedy. This year, as part of a multi-year effort, a major section of the Arboretum Waterway will be transformed into a vibrant flowing watercourse bordered by native plants and the Arboretum’s premier plant collections.
If you’ve always wondered what YOU can do to help improve the Arboretum Waterway – here’s your chance! Our Waterway WOW community campaign launches during UC Davis Give Day. Our goal: raise $50,000 between April 21 and May 4 to support the Waterway Enhancement Project this year.
Gifts to the Waterway WOW campaign will fund thousands of plants to re-vegetate the Waterway banks that will be re-done as part of the first phase of the Waterway Enhancement Project and help support the creation of a new team of Arboretum Learning by Leading student interns to provide ongoing care for the renovated waterway. Other parts of the project, including physical improvements to the water channel, are being funded by UC Davis deferred maintenance funds.
The Waterway Enhancement Project will benefit everyone who visits the Arboretum for education and recreation, enhance its beauty, and improve wildlife habitat.
During Give Day, your gift will be matched thanks to families that have pledged challenge gifts for the Waterway WOW campaign.
Join other Aggies in supporting the Waterway WOW campaign. Together we can transform the Arboretum Waterway into the crown jewel of our campus.
